Mind the GaP...
Hello.. sorry about the delay more fixed point drapes here.. Yes they seem to be all elements or partials right now... You're right, well unfortunately due to budget constraints(read as broke), I am using what is available until I can find a better source(cheaper fabric). Please bear with me...
Today's experiments seemed to be inspired by the cold and windy weather out here in Paris as well...hmm...A blustery day I'm having...

From Chatelet to Gare de Lyon to...
Living in Paris definitely helps charge one's creative batteries so to speak. This weeks experiments is based on the Paris metro system. If you haven't been, think the Tube(London), the subway(NYC). the "L"(Chicago), and bart/muni(SFbay)...Often especially with where I live, I have to change lines, go forwards, backwards and then onto the next stop, change...etc...this got me thinking....if the human body can be seen as a "city" then....?
These drapes are based on a fixed point - meaning there are X number of fixed - pinned points that cannot be changed and I have to drape around(over, under sideways..you get the point...pun intended) them to create a design of sorts.
This week I'm mainly exploring 3-4 fixed points...more difficult!

Do as the greeks do...

yes.. Yes ...YES!!! ITS ALIVVVEE...
Welcome, welcome again...Yes today I am FINALLY.. posting the drapes that have been backing up....got the material, this is basic muslin - or toile fabric as its known in the UK. These drapes were a bit inspired by the Madeline Vionnet(see pics) exhibit currently on at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until Jan. 2010(So go see it!!!)

The drapes here are done with a single square fabric, uncut and draped on the bias. Most this time are elements - Oh, the numbering is as follows -
Elements- Parts of or a single idea - Exp#-E000
Dresses-fully finished drape with details etc.. - Exp#-D000
Partials- finished but only 1/2 or without any details - Exp#-P000
So please note if commenting on why certain "looks" aren't finished...well they are...unless noted!
And without further ado...Here are drapes 1-7!
